Augur applies AI to legacy CCTV networks — turning passive cameras into an intelligent safety system that detects people, events, and behavioural patterns in real time. As founding product designer, I led discovery, research, and the end-to-end design of a SaaS platform built from a proof of concept, from initial workshop to leasable product.

This was a 0-1 stage start-up, backed by Ford, successfully releasing a new hardware and software product to market, in the vehicle security space. My role was to take a hardware prototype and a software concept, and then expand upon the concept, design, prototype, test and validate those designs and ideas, and then deliver engineer ready high fidelity flows, accompanied by a new design system built from the ground up.

The design system at Canopy was a side project. We didn’t have one, but we needed one, so I built one. It followed the atomic design methodology of atoms, molecules, organisms, templates, and pages, but we also had contents, brand, imagery, and documentation sections, as well as Apple, Google, and Microsoft components. This design system evolved throughout the project, and whenever screens were marked as ready to build, the engineers could reference all of the component parts in the design system.

Hydrogen has huge potential, but there are a number of challenges. I was hired to work in a small cross disciplined team, and tasked with getting under the surface of the hydrogen process, from extraction to consumption. We had to identify all of the different people involved at each stage, their jobs to be done, and then surface and visualise all of the different types of data available, so that improvements and efficiencies could be made.

Working directly with the company founder and a senior strategist, I was tasked with creating all of the software to pair with a suite of hardware devices, that enable the remote monitoring of elderly and vulnerable people in their own homes. The outcome was an iOS app for friends and family, and a web app for healthcare professionals.

I redesigned the onboarding experience, moving from a desktop-only, parent-led sign-up to a mobile-first flow that could be started by either a child or a parent, with seamless parent/guardian handoff. I also led the website redesign, applying updated brand guidelines to create a more cohesive and modern experience.
